German Wine Institute officially announces the opening of a “Wines of Germany Shanghai Office” on 22 January, 2015. Ms. Manuela Liebchen, Asia Manager of the German Wine Institute, comes to Shanghai to celebrate and witness the historic moment, together with the representatives of German wine importers and distributors, media, German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai Representative Office, German Tourism Bureau China Representative Office and other related associations.
“China is one of our most important wine markets, and we are pleased to establish an office here in Shanghai,” says Ms. Liebchen. “The office will serve as a bridge connecting German wine with importers, media and Chinese consumers. With a series of marketing campaigns and the consistent efforts of our China office team, we are fully confident that Chinese consumers will gain a deeper understanding of German wines and culture.”
The Deutsches Weininstitut (DWI, or German Wine Institute) is the official marketing organization of the German wine industry. DWI promotes German wines through comprehensive marketing campaigns and public communications in Germany and on a global scale. The head office is in Mainz, Germany.
German Wines in China. In 2015, a series of campaigns are in line to enhance awareness of German wines in China market, including global events like “Riesling Weeks”, “German Wine Specialist Course”, along with new activities tailor-made for Chinese consumers such as consumer wine fairs, “German Wine Consumer Education Program”, online educational video series and so on.
